Schedule¶
The Schedule module takes you from a call for papers to a published public schedule with digital signage.
For panelists / submitters¶
Submitting a panel or event¶
Open the schedule submission page for your event.
Complete the submission form (title/name, description, category/tracks, and any fields the organizers added).
Submit. Organizers review submissions and either place them on the schedule or respond with questions.
Note
If the form cannot find a category, you will see E:SCH:1
(see Error e-sch-1). That is a configuration gap on the organizer side —
let them know.
During the event¶
Use my events to see the panels you are on, and panel check-in to check in before your session. The public schedule (and digital signage screens around the venue) show your session’s time and room.
For event organizers¶
Prerequisites¶
Mandatory |
None. |
|---|---|
Optional |
KioskOS — for kiosk-based signage and terminals. |
No third-party integrations are required to use Schedule.
Calls for papers & categories¶
Create categories, tracks, and rooms first, then open a submission form attached to a category. Panelists submit against a category; you then review and place them.
Scheduling¶
Midsummer offers several ways to build the schedule:
the schedule editor (Kendo-based drag-and-drop grid),
a form-based editor,
a slot editor for fine placement,
import/export (Excel) for bulk changes.
You can configure wayfinding arrows and per-room layouts for the digital signage screens.
Digital signage & static pages¶
Display the public schedule on screens with the digital-signage component, and publish static Markdown pages for things like maps, policies, or guest announcements.
For event technical staff¶
Display screens and kiosks each have their own URL — open the correct one and leave it in kiosk/full-screen mode.
If a submitter sees
E:SCH:1(no category) orE:MID:404(resource not found), it is configuration, not a bug — see the error reference.
