Module quickstarts¶
Each Midsummer module is independent — an event can use one, several, or all of them. These quickstarts walk through the everyday workflows for each module from the perspective of the people who use them.
If you are an event organizer setting a module up for the first time, read the “Setup” section of each guide first. If you are an attendee or staff member, jump to the workflow that matches what you are trying to do.
Common concepts¶
A few ideas recur across modules:
- Forms
Registration, vendor applications, and panel submissions are all built with the same drag-and-drop form builder. A form is a JSON definition rendered field-by-field. See For event organizers.
- Tiers / levels
A registration tier (or level) bundles a price with included merchandise and options. Tiers are snapshotted into each registration at checkout, so editing a tier later does not retroactively change existing registrations.
- Check-in
Register, Vendor, and Schedule each have a check-in flow. Register also supports rapid self-service kiosks and a “rapid check-in” terminal mode for high-throughput badge pickup.
- Stripe
Payments for registration, vendor tables, and shop items all go through Stripe. Events run in either Stripe test or live mode, configured by the organizers.
Warning
Once an event is configured as live or sandbox, it cannot be changed later. Events are given sandboxes only on request through the Midsummer team at support@midsummer.cloud
